Cancer,
Chemo and Beyond
was published
with LuLu Publishing
in July 2008. At
the time I was already
3 years past by estimated
shelf life.
Now it
is July 2009. It
has been 4 years since
my diagnosis. I am
still traveling as
much as possible
thanks to generous
friends and family.
I have a Hospice
nurse that checks
on me every two weeks. The cancer has spread. It is now in my liver, lungs and in the bones. I didn't have much pain until it hit the bones.
I feel pretty good
most of the time.
Fatigue is the biggest
factor.
I have quit
having scans and
seeing the doctors
because there is
no point in finding
out how much the
cancer has spread
since they can't do
anything at this
point.
I will make
it a point this month
to call every doctor
that wrote me off
early on just to
let them know I am
still around and
they were wrong. I will tell them that they would be
better serving their
patients by telling
them they have no
idea as opposed to
handing them a death
sentence date that
they are not qualified
to foretell. Only
God knows for sure.
I
have lived more since
stopping chemo and
making the most of
my life than ever
before.
Sharon Marcocci who's story is in the book, is doing very well. She has now been in remission for 4 years with her non-hodgkins lymphoma.
I
will check on updates
from the other people
in the book
that shared their
stories and
be
sure
to
update
you on their current
status soon.
Thanks
